Wiring Stage 59
The Light My Bricks Remote Control and Sound Kit comes with a IR Receiver, Speaker, MicroSD card slot, and IR Remote Control. The connections are simple and allow us to turn the custom lighting on and off with a remote. I did not use the sound functions, but we could have easily loaded a few Fire Department of New York MP3 files to it and played them through the speaker.
Mounting the IR (InfraRed) Receiver
Before I closed up the Chassis to the Body in this stage, I mounted the IR receiver of my Light My Bricks Remote Control and Sound Kit behind the Right Outrigger as shown. This sensor has a self-adhesive backing. The wiring was routed through this small gap (arrow below):
Routing the USB Power Cable
Through the same gap used above, I routed the USB Power Cable out the right side of the body:

While I used the basic Light My Bricks USB Power Cable here, I want to see if I can power the entire fire truck from USB. We shall find out!
